Yafeu The Carver

Appearance
Yafeu is towering over most humans of his age, which, combined with his dark robes and hidden face, gives him an ominous, if not creepy and distrustful appearance. The fact that, what little of his face is shown, was wounded or scared dark skin did not help. Not that the man was very social, despite his height mostly trying to stay at the side of groups or in corners. What most of his robes hide are, on the one hand, the green glowing runes which seem to be etched into his skin, around his neck, wrists and anckles, flowing together to a big tatto on his stomach. On the other, it is his rather muscular body structure, the man clearly being used to using the physical than the magical way of combat.
His eyes have an odd honey-like color, while his hair, even if mostly non-visible, would be dark dreadlocks. Though recently, Maria Greyskull has cut it to a shorter one.

Personality
Yafeu is…not the kind of person one would pick as their best friend. He comes off as rough and grumpy, talking very little and caring even less. Opportunistic to a certain degree, he could mostly be seen when any mission would hand out money as a reward, almost regardless of what cause or which contractor. Indeed, the man needs a good few talks to get over an inherit distrust towards everyone and everything before he starts to open up, rather clinging to things he can touch and less to abstract constructs. And even then it is unclear how strong Yafeu’s loyalty truly is, especially if confronted with something objectively more helpful.
In the end, Yafeu and his motives would rather remain in the shadows, prefering to be stoic, strong and unpredictable. Which makes it all the more worrying that he is living in the Refuge, a place with deep cliffs, and suffers a fear of heights from his past, though he tries to repress it.

Philosophy
“Only the strong survive.”
Yafeu values physical strenght highly, more than his magical talent. Even without his curse, he still is strong enough to rival most heavily armored soldiers, but in turn, has rather basic knowledge of necromancy.

“Money’s a terrible master… but a nice servant.”
Greedy or desperate, Yafeu almost takes every job as long as the price is right. To him, money is the solution to most problems, even if he fails to utilize it himself. Or…maybe he keeps it for another reason.

“May Glint find you in the darkness, and lead you into her perfect light.”
Yafeu is by no means a religious man, not to the Six nor any other deity, spirit or entity. The way he sees Glint is more as a role model for those who want to be ‘goody-two-shoes’, and less as some supernatural beign that can decide the fate of every single one. Yet, a little bit of a necromancer even in him, he respects the wishes of the dead or dying, and tries to make their end as easy as possible.

Combat
Equipment
Yafeu does not carry much besides his normal robes, sometimes hiding his face behind a piece of black cloth wrapped around his head. This gives him a more intimidating look, despite the fact that any of his outfits are simple cloth and hold no defensive properties whatsoever. Not that he has the need to rely on armor.

Weapons
The Elonian is seemingly only adapt at using what the gods gave him with: His fists. Though of course, sometimes a simple punch won’t quite cut it, and Yafeu does openly carry a dagger with him, though uses it rather sparesly. He is clearly no master with the knife, but it get’s the job done.

Magic
This is where it get’s interesting. Yafeu is a ‘necromancer’…at least officially. He hardly dabbles in anything relating to the magic of the dead, even less when it comes to the spectral and spiritual side. If anything, Yafeu knows how to heal himself and cast off any poisons or infections, coming from his days around bandits.
However, Yafeu bears an odd curse on him. Originally meant as a medicine, a gift to bring forth immortality, the ‘curse’ grants it’s user rapid physical regeneration, to the point where entire limbs can grow back relatively fast. This regeneration is caused by the combination of druidic and necromantic magic, as well as natural healing abilities and natural defenses from other beings, such as oakhearts or drakes. Due to this many foreign influences inside a human body, they have the possibility to cause spontaneous mutation of the bearer’s body. In Yafeu’s case, into a giant beast. Said beast’s shoulders are as high as two grown norn are tall, it has the mane of a lion and horns of a ram, the front legs claws of a drake and the back hooves. It has a tail almost as large as it’s main body, and multiple human arms crawling out from it’s stomach. With said curse in mind, Yafeu has picked up additionally flesh-transformation as part of his necromancy, which he uses to enhance his physical strenght and support his combatstyle.

Combatstyle
Yafeu is very direct when it comes to combat. With most of his magic (he can control) on the supportive site, he attacks enemies by strenghtening his arms and mostly punching or clawing into the opposite site. He is rather reckless in doing so, knowing that his body can withstand great amounts of damage without problems, and rarely cares enough about ‘allies’ to worry about the curse triggering and forcing him into a state that could do more harm than good.
