Physical Description
“My physical appearance won’t matter in the heat of combat. It is better to look scrappy than be ineffective when your life is at stake.”
Cannaxx stands at a decent height for a male asura, his often exposed body showing signs of battle in the past with the form of scars and other damage, as well as a suspiciously thin frame, though aside from this he appears healthy underneath the grime and dirt that would come with him. His pale green eyes are often obscured with his blindfold, even if it’s no longer necessary for him to wear. A lot of his clothing appears to be stitched and handmade, it’s not quite what one may expect a typical asura to wear. He seems to enjoy tan or beige colors in his outfit, which also helps him blend in to his surroundings in some more heated desert climates.
Personality
“It’s always good to have at least some respect for people.”
Cannaxx is always quite an oddly calmed man, at times possessing a certain mysticism or wisdom on him. On others, there’s hints of a much friendlier and outgoing side to him, though for whatever reason this seems to be kept away too often one might say. He does display a certain amount of professionalism in his tone, and on rare occasion can even be authoritarian.
Background
“Of course, but first I should finish my next… five… drinks.”
Past (??? – 1324)
A story is not often told at first glance, though Cannaxx certainly tells years of his tale in every feature. Despite hesitant nature to talk about his past, he has revealed to the Refuge a piece of his troublesome past. Many years ago, he worked in a position of an Advisor for an Inquest Subkrewe known as the Inquest Golemnetics Division, focused on the creation of golems for a multitude of purposes. Some time during development, large amounts of focused changed on integrating asura into golem chassis in order to improve strength and reliability for combat and other various purposes. While at first the initial tests lead to failure and large amounts of skepticism, the plan eventually sprung into action. From there, the project was a large success for many years…
Sometime during the development of the project, a large mainframe was built into the massive hidden facility, with the intent on placing somebody inside a reusable pod in order to grant them access and full control over the facility. This was assigned to an Overseer Felga, who was Cannaxx’s superior, though on the day of testing something went wrong as the pod was used, and the mainframe went out of control. Any and all integrated golems began to kill off most of the krewe, as well as kidnapping them to later integrate with the facility’s very own machine, capable of integrating and building golems and machines from scratch.
After escaping the facility with the help of his good friend Enilla, another higher up known as Kallann, and a few others lead by Officer Almanac, Cannaxx and most of his compatriots were arrested for conspiracy and treason against the Inquest— and all of asura kind. As punishment for his actions, Cannaxx was flung off of Rata Sum mercilessly, exiled from the nation and hopefully killed on the landing… But the latter never did occur…
Debts to be Paid (Present Day)
After tracking down and eliminating a Mordrem Overseer attempting to rally remaining forces, Cannaxx went on the run from them, eventually leading the rest into an ambush. However, plans were foiled when members of the Refuge took things into their own hands by eliminting the Mordrem for him, but not without casualty. Cannaxx remains in the Refuge to try and repay his debt to the people by helping them out in any way, shape, or form.
After the Refuge helped to find an individual known as Enilla, Cannaxx revealed that she was his old friend who helped him to escape the IGD. In response to this sudden turn of events, Cannaxx became quite reclusive to help try and cope as well as bond with his long lost compatriot. As time wore on, news came about of his old master Zrada’s disappearance. Soon enough, an integrated Zrada attempted to lead forces of other integrated machines through the Silverwastes and into the Refuge, though were foiled in time as Cannaxx and Enilla sent a group to the old facility, with the objective to finally shut down the mainframe in mind…
After Sector Alpha of the facility was cleared out by the group, Cannaxx went away for a short while and became reclusive once more. For how long is yet to be seen, but things don’t seem well for the asura…
General Knowledge
“Oh, I suppose I have a few things about me…”
Acolyte of Zrada – Cannaxx is known to have been an apprentice in revenancy to a previously infamous member of the Refuge known as Zrada. Though Cannaxx disagrees with some of his master’s teachings, he also seems to have great respect for the man, blaming the man’s malevolent behavior on some other cruel entity.
Invoker of Jalis Ironhammer – Commonly invokes the legendary dwarven king for his own combat utilities and defense. Though it seems Cannaxx normally keeps the man quiet in his mind.
Ex-Advisor of The Inquest Golemnetics Division – Whether he takes pride it in or not, the man used to be of a high rank within the Inquest. He tries to look on the morality his group had, however even he seems reluctant to defend the Inquest in times of argument, and seems to hold great guilt within him for his service in there.
Evasive & Precise – When in combat, Cannaxx seems to wield what is on first glance a flimsy staff with a crystal embedded within it. But those that have seen him fight know that he is a force to be reckoned with, capable of quickly traversing around an opponent and delivering fast and unexpected strikes to an area. He seems to use the crystals as a form of slice, able of cutting open flesh and metal with the strength of a diamond, if not more, proving how durable these strange gems seem to be. He is also capable of defensive capabilities, and can use his attunement to the mists for a variety of functions as well.
