Backstory

Early life

Soon after awakening from the dream Moreera headed out of the Grove, exploring the lands beyond. Just to eventually end up crossing a small group of explorers from the Durmand Priory. After spending some time with the group she decided to enlist to the Priory herself. This is how she spent most of her early, and later life. She explored the lands, taking note of interesting events and studying the history of each place she went to.

Not all those who wander are lost

The Pact

As the Pact prepared their assault on the jungle dragon in the west, a Priory magister set out to create a team of explorers and researchers to study the dragon’s movement and corruption. This was the first big expedition Moreera signed up for. A couple weeks later the team and her arrived at Camp Resolve and set out to record the vines moving around the area. After a week of research they were finally able to watch one of the larger vines sprout up and dig into the earth. It was a big breakthrough for the team, one that they hoped would set the tone for the rest of the expedition.

Not too long after the Pact lead their assault into the jungle, just to get decimated by the might of the elder dragon. Reports of the destruction and sylvari turning against their fellow Pact soldiers quickly made their way to the staging ground, where Moreera’s team was still preparing for their own flight into the jungle. Upon hearing the reports the sylvari were quickly expelled from their teams and put under watch. Though a little while later the sylvari were slowly allowed to help around the camp again.

During this time Moreera spent most of her days helping out with tending to the wounded. Usually doing less complicated work like bandaging the soldiers.

After the dragon fell the sylvari were eventually allowed to head into the jungle. This is where Moreera, along with the other sylvari from her team, rendezvoused with the others and made their way to the golden city of Tarir. Here she spent weeks researching the area until she eventually knew the place as the back of her hand.

Lovely travels

After spending some time at Tarir Moreera decided to head out again, exploring the world on her own terms. This eventually lead her to renting a room in Divinity’s Reach, from which she spent well over a month exploring Kryta’s lands. After a while she ended up working with a small, tight knit, guild of bounty hunters for well over half a year. Here is where she met various new people, including a small sylvan pup.

While working with the group she eventually grew a liking with one of the sylvari that showed up every now and again. After the guild’s closure she spent a few months living together with the man in the Grove, whilst working at the Priory again.

The Refuge

One day her boyfriend took her with him to a place where a friend of his lived. This was a well-hidden place near the Silverwastes with a beautiful landscape and another tight knit group living there, including a couple old faces. Soon after they decided to also move into this community, taking a large house as their own, giving their animals more than enough room to live in.

She continued to work at the Priory whilst living here, taking a waypoint to her work early in the morning on each traditional workday. Though with a new community also come new adventures, and as such she often spends time helping out the various members of the Refuge.

Delving into the Derelict

During her usual archiving work at the Priory she overheard talks of an expedition to a dwarven ruin in the southern Deldrimor Front. She quickly signed up for this expedition, making it her second big expedition to go on. Not too long after the expedition group headed out, ending up in a gigantic structure with caves upon caves below it. But it wasn’t until a small group of the Refuge came by that they could fully explore the far reaches of the dwarven fortress.

Not all that is over is past

After returning from her expedition to the dwarven ruins Moreera simply continued her normal life, spending the workdays in the Priory and her evenings around her house and the tavern in the Refuge. Though recently the pace of her life started to change due to unexpected changes.

Personality

As most sylvari, Moreera has a curiosity craving inside her that sends her on the path of exploration and research of the past of Tyria. This is seen through her love of reading books about the past, and her general knowledge of the world and its people. Ask a question near her and she is likely to give you an answer, even if the question wasn’t directed at her.

Despite her tendency to jump into conversations to answer questions, she will likely remain relatively quiet when in company of more than one other person. She prefers to observe conversations and pick specific moments to jump in over general small talk.

When it comes to helping others out she will likely offer help whenever she thinks she can at least make the tiniest difference. This often gets her into situations she’d otherwise not have gone into, but she will still try her best to make the most out of it.

Whenever there is conflict she’d rather figure out a way to solve the situation without involving violence. Though she also recognizes that many situations do not allow for this, meaning that she will have to look for alternatives to end the conflict either faster, or in a less destructive manner.

All things have a right to grow

Abilities

Moreera is skilled when it comes to manipulating the elements. Due to her more pacifist nature she is less skilled at applying these abilities in combat, and mostly just uses them for more practical situations. Despite this she still uses her general knowledge of the elements to make the most of a combat situation should she get herself into one.

Due to her interest in history she has gained a general knowledge of multiple old languages, including (but not limited to); Ascalonian, Old Krytan, and Dwarven.
